It is thought that Nat Turner was holding this Bible when he was captured two months after the rebellion he led against slaveholders in Southampton County, Virginia.

Below is our interpretation of the Nat Turner Bible from what we where allowed to see from the original at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture.

For an episode of Strange Inheritance, we were asked to reproduce it in a newer state but showing "use".

Meet Joseph Plumb Martin stars Patrick Poole as Joseph Plumb Martin and was written by Ryan Schwartz for the Museum of the American Revolution. This was the Museum's first original theatrical piece and debuted in 2018.

This 1772 New Testament Bible used by actor Patrick Poole interpreting Joseph Plumb Martin, a soldier in General George Washington's army. See the performance and interview here
