Jonathan Swift's greatest and Best known work, Gulliver's Travels, was first published on, 28 October 1726.  This event was announced by a modest advert in the London Daily Journal :   This Day Published, Travels into Several remote nations of the World. by LEMUEL GULLIVER, first a Surgeon, afterwards Captain of several ships.  In TWO Volumes.  Compositum jus, fasque animi, santosque recessus Mentis, & incoctum generoso pectus honesto. Printed for BENJ. MOTTE, at the Middle Temple Gate, Fleet-street.  N.B. There are few printed on a Royal Paper.  

The TWO Volume set is reproduced on Ivory laid paper and BOUND in 1/4 calf by the CROWN and BOOK and finished with blind tooling.
